The Project

Situated in the heart of Toronto, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment(MLSE)will house the 2015 and 2017 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship at the Air Canada Centre (ACC). Facilities include 18,800 hockey seating capacity,three restaurants, two bars, in-house brewery, Bose sound system, Mitsubishi Electric score board and Roger Media Centre.

Mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems were designed for new, existing and temporary dressing rooms.


Our Role

  • Provided value engineering services including:
    • Proposing mechanical design and material alternatives.
    • Track consultation.
    • Design coordination.
  • Reviewed and commented on proposed budgets.
  • Prepared permit, tender and construction drawings.
  • Reviewed contractors submittals and performed periodic field reviews.

Our Key Accomplishments

  • Engaged at the planning stage collaborated with MLSE to produce mechanical design within MLSE’s aggressive budget.
  • Reviewed contractor’s procedure to minimize over budgeted project bid.
  • Provided detailed drawings and scheduling coordination with architecture and electrical consultants to minimized probable construction issues with contractors.
