Clark Canyon Hydro LLC


The Project

The Clark Canyon Dam Project is a 4.7 MW hydroelectric facility located near Dillon, Montana at the Bureau of Reclamation’s (BOR) Clark Canyon Dam.


The project will include the following features:

  • 2.35 MW capacity Francis turbines.
  • Valve House controlling flow distribution.
  • 8-foot diameter penstock through existing conduit.
  • 4.16 kV overhead transmission line.
  • Aeration Basin to improve water quality.
  • Generation of 15.41 GW-Hr per year.


Our Role

Engaged in the design phase to provide the following services:

  • Reviewed project budget. Recommended procurement strategies to obtain best value. Established budget control and monitory procedures.
  • Reviewed technical documents for completeness and implemented design peer reviews.
  • Recommended best form of construction contract recognizing Client’s goals and risk tolerance.
  • Managed design to obtain essential regulatory approvals.
  • Developed a comprehensive schedule that integrated the main construction tasks with regulatory process, and equipment deliveries.
