The Project

A new Canadian landmark facility conceived under a “green building” mandate. The concept design includes use of green roof, river water cooling and grey water sanitation. The museum incorporates display areas, large artifact display, vehicle maintenance facilities, collection areas, laboratories, and administrative offices.

Our Role

  • Participated during schematic phase to evaluate multiple design schemes
  • Generated comprehensive concept documents to generate accurate costing at the early project stages
  • Evaluated and implemented multiple sustainable design initiatives including river water cooling, gray water systems and grass covered roof
  • Commissioned all mechanical systems

Our Key Accomplishments

  • Exceeded energy performance targets while maintaining exhibits and laboratory collection areas within the narrowly specified design parameters.
  • Managed and successfully obtained approval for utilization of river water for cooling and non-potable use
